At Schwartz’s Crossfit Melbourne we are constantly working on ways to improve our training methods in order to provide you with the greatest results and fastest rates of progression towards the accomplishment of your goals.
As of Monday 22nd March group classes held at 5pm, 6pm, 7pm and 8pm will be split into two different groups. Participants in the class will be directed into either the first or second group dependant on their ability to complete a minimum of at least nine set movements and exercises out of a list of eleven.
With class sizes constantly growing and the difference in range of skills and experience between participants growing, we feel it is important to try and create a group class system that is better able to cater for the specific needs of all clients.
Programming plays a crucial role in the progression of a client’s skill base and capabilities. It is imperative that all clients are participating in sessions that will constantly lead to self improvement as well as the capability to complete complex movements such as muscle ups, snatches, pistols etc. Those clients that can complete movements such as these need to be practicing them regularly. Those that haven’t quite mastered them yet need to be practicing all the progression movements and exercises that will lead them to a point where they can start doing them.
Tailoring these sessions to the more specific needs of each group will help us to progress each individual from whatever level they may currently be at to ultimately being able to complete whatever Crossfit movements, exercises and WODS we may throw at you!
We will be holding workshops once a week which will concentrate specifically on certain movements and skills. These are for people who are wanting to get into group 1, as well as for people who are already in group 1 but would like to do some additional skill work.
These workshops will be held every Saturday at 10am and will be done without intensity. This will enable participants to back up and do the 11am group class straight after should they wish. At the beginning of each week we will post what movements and skills will be worked on for the coming Saturday.
Would everyone please note that the 5pm group classes held on Monday’s and Wednesday’s will be tailored to Group 2 clients. Group 1 clients should be aware that if they attend these classes they will be doing a WOD designed for group 2.
